By now, every die-hard Mustang fanatic should be well aware of the Ford Motor Company’s special edition Mustang Bullitt, which is modeled after the starring ride in the 1968 film of the same name. However, what they might not be familiar with is Steeda Performance’s custom-made “Steve McQueen edition” which is designed to honor the film’s legendary action hero.
Steeda Performance collaborated with Steve McQueen’s son, Chad, in order to create a highly specialized version of the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt . In the end, only 300 units were produced. Now, the very first 2019 Steve McQueen Edition Mustang Bullitt has come up for sale.
The special edition ride is built on the now-defunct S550 Bullitt base, though the car’s suspension, engine, and drivetrain have been expertly enhanced with 27 new components in total.
A few standouts on this incredibly rare ride include a brand new aluminum wheel design wrapped in Nitto NT555 G2 high-performance tires, bigger front and rear sway bars with solid billet ends, billet aluminum sway bar mounts, subframe bushings, a subframe alignment kit and support brace, dual-rate springs, a bump steer kit, tuned struts and shocks, camber plates, ultra-light jacking rails, a G-Trac k-member support brace, and billet vertical links.
Under the hood, this ride has been fitted with a Whipple supercharger engine that’s capable of a ridiculous 825-horsepower. This power flows through a six-speed manual transmission, which has also been upgraded with a short-throw shifter and clutch spring assist.
Exterior design upgrades include an exclusive front fascia upgrade and a rear decklid emblem while the interior features special door sill plates, a serialized dash plaque, and custom floor mats.
