Designed For Maximum Safety

Last year, the 2020 Ford Explorer was given a five-star safety rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

For 2021, the same safety suite returns, this time with forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning being included as standard features.

Additional optional features on the 2021 Ford Explorer include fully automatic headlights, adaptive cruise control, and active park assist.

Boasting Impressive Pure Ford Power

The Ford Explorer has always been known for impressive power, and this year's model is nbo different.

On this year's base, XLT, and Limited trims, you'll find a 300-horsepower 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood. Looking for even more power? Try upgrading to the Platinum trim for access to the 3.0L twin-turbocharged 365-horsepower V6 engine, or the ST trim for a 400-horsepower version of the same engine.

The 2021 Ford Explorer hybrid option will also return for 2021. This model offers the combined power of a 3.3L V6 engine and a high-performance electric motor in order to produce 319-horsepower.
