Ford is continuing its journey toward an electrified future in Europe with the start of production for three exciting new electric vehicles. The Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier, and E-Transit Courier are now heading to showrooms and customers across Europe, expanding Ford's electric offerings and providing greater affordability and accessibility for both private and commercial customers.
Each of these models brings something special to the table, making electric mobility more versatile and user-friendly than ever before. First up is the Puma Gen-E, a compact crossover that electrifies Ford's best-selling car in Europe. This new model offers zero-emission driving while preserving the fun-to-drive spirit and stylish design that customers know and love. The E-Tourneo Courier, a multi-activity vehicle, is designed to make life easier for customers who need space and flexibility. With a bold new design, a roomy interior, and smart connected technologies like Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, the E-Tourneo Courier is built for those who demand more from their vehicles.
For commercial customers, the E-Transit Courier is a game-changer. This compact van offers an impressive range of up to 300 km, a payload capacity of up to 700 kg, and 25% more load space than the previous generation. The E-Transit Courier can even carry two Euro pallets, making it a highly practical choice for businesses that need efficiency and flexibility in their operations.
Jon Williams, general manager of Ford Blue and Model e in Europe, emphasized how these new models are part of Ford's ongoing commitment to electric mobility. “The Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier, and E-Transit Courier further enhance our existing electric vehicle range so there is a choice of vehicles to suit both private and business customers,” said Williams. Ford’s strategy is clear: to offer an electric vehicle for every need, helping more people across Europe access the benefits of electrified driving.
These new vehicles are built at Ford Otosan’s state-of-the-art assembly plant in Craiova, Romania, showcasing Ford’s dedication to sustainable manufacturing. With electric drive units produced at Ford’s Halewood facility in the UK and key components made at its Cologne plant in Germany, Ford is investing in innovation across the entire production process. The company has also made strides toward sustainability at the Craiova plant, recently installing photovoltaic panels and launching a more efficient logistics hub, leading to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
As Ford continues to expand its electric vehicle lineup in Europe, the Puma Gen-E, E-Tourneo Courier, and E-Transit Courier are set to play a key role in the company’s vision for a cleaner, more sustainable future.
