Ford Motor Company continues to capture the hearts of American consumers with its diverse and innovative product lineup. The company's second-quarter sales have surged across trucks, vans, hybrids, electric vehicles, and the Lincoln brand, reflecting strong market resonance.

Ford remains the world’s leading pickup manufacturer, with its F-Series trucks maintaining the top spot in America. Through June, the F-Series outsold its closest competitors, the Silverado and Ram, by 71,000 and 173,000 units, respectively. The Maverick and Maverick Hybrid, the nation’s best-selling hybrid trucks, set new first-half sales records, contributing to the F-Series’ impressive Q2 total of 199,463 units, marking a 30 percent increase from Q1.

Ford's Transit van, America’s best-selling van, achieved a new first-half sales record. Additionally, Ford set an all-time record for SUV sales in the first half of 2024, surpassing the previous record from 2017. This achievement underscores the growing consumer interest in Ford’s versatile and reliable vehicle lineup, enhanced by the company’s software and service offerings that add significant value post-purchase.

Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue, commented, “From the urban customer who wants the capability of a small pickup like Maverick to the businesses that rely on Transit vans to help drive the American economy, the distinctive Ford lineup is resonating with customers. Hybrid and electric vehicles are driving growth, as are post-purchase experiences, like BlueCruise hands-free highway driving, the Ford Pro Intelligence software platform, and remote vehicle servicing options.”

In Q2, Ford’s total vehicle sales increased by 1 percent year-over-year. Truck sales, including pickups and vans, rose by 5 percent to 308,920 units, marking Ford's best Q2 truck sales performance since 2019. Production of key models like the F-150, Ranger, and the new Lincoln Nautilus is scaling up, with more exciting vehicles, including the new Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, Mustang Mach-E Rally, and extended-range E-Transit, set to arrive soon.

Ford’s hybrid sales soared by 56 percent in Q2, reaching 53,822 units—a new quarterly record. Leading this charge is the Maverick, America’s best-selling hybrid pickup, with 40,420 units sold in the first half of the year. Notably, 60 percent of Maverick Hybrid buyers are new to Ford, many switching from small SUVs and compact cars.

The F-150 Hybrid also saw significant growth, with sales up 38 percent to 33,674 units in the first half of the year. This model now represents 20 percent of non-EV F-150 sales, highlighting Ford’s competitive advantage with its versatile powertrain lineup.

Ford’s electric vehicle (EV) sales surged by 61 percent in Q2, with 23,957 units sold, and are up 72 percent for the year. With 44,180 total EVs sold in the first half of the year, Ford trails only Tesla. The Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning are attracting new customers, with 62 percent of F-150 Lightning and 54 percent of Mustang Mach-E buyers being new to the brand. Mustang Mach-E sales rose 46 percent in Q2 and are up 58 percent year-to-date. F-150 Lightning sales totaled 15,645 through June, with a 77 percent increase in Q2. The E-Transit, America’s best-selling electric van, doubled its first-half sales from 2023, with a 96 percent increase in Q2, marking its best quarterly performance since its 2022 debut.

Ford continues to lead the commercial van segment, posting record Transit sales. In Q2, Transit and E-Series vans made up half of the full-size commercial van segment, with Transit sales up 28 percent in the first half of the year. Ford Pro Intelligence, Ford’s software platform, now boasts around 600,000 subscribers, a 33 percent year-over-year increase.

Lincoln’s sales accelerated in Q2, driven by the success of the new Lincoln Nautilus, which led with 8,273 units sold. The Nautilus hybrid represented 44 percent of these sales. Other models, such as the Corsair and Aviator, also saw significant gains. The new Lincoln Digital Experience, featuring an award-winning panoramic screen, continues to attract customers.

Ford and Lincoln’s remote service appointments saw a staggering 175 percent increase in the first half of 2024, reaching 1.8 million. These services, which include remote vehicle servicing and pickup and delivery options, provide significant convenience to customers, enhancing their overall ownership experience.

Ford’s robust Q2 sales performance across various segments highlights the company's strength and innovation in the automotive market. With a strong product lineup, growing hybrid and EV sales, and expanding service offerings, Ford continues to meet the diverse needs of its customers while paving the way for future growth and success.
